Part I, cont.
Oneirosaurs
A species of highly intelligent and motivated dinosaurs, the Oneirosaurs, develop a social order over a period of 20 million years. Life is brutal in the dinosaurs’ world, but eventually the Oneirosaurs come to recognize awareness in themselves and each other, which leads to empathy and compassion developing in the psyche of the Oneirosaurs over time. The Oneirosaurs learn to manipulate their environment and make tools, utilizing the massive natural resources available to them. They make fire using the lenses of large dinosaurs. They make telescopes from such lenses as well, and begin to understand their place in the universe. The Oneirosaurs like to dwell in caves, and make use of natural energy sources, such as volcanoes. Twenty million years pass.
Possessing almost a telepathic connection with each other, the Oneirosaurs predict their own destruction in a shared vision. They work together furiously to try and figure out a way to survive the impending doom. Though they have mastered use of natural resources for life on Earth, the Oneirosaurs lack an industrial base like modern humans have. Some Oneirosaurs seek protection within the Earth, going deep into caves, while other Oneirosaurs manage to actually send a crude craft with a lone observer far above the surface as a massive object impacts the Earth. Do the Oneirosaurs make it?
